this work features underwater hydrophone recordings made on several visits to the marina of Portbou under very windy conditions. Portbou is a Catalonian town in the Costa Brava, near the border with France. the region has characteristically strong winds, locally known as ‘tramontana’.
the composition draws attention to the interlocking rhythms, squeaks and turbulent noises created by the material interactions amongst moving air, water, wood, metal, nonhuman species, and listening devices.
fieldwork carried out during a residency at Nau Côclea Contemporary Art Centre in Camallera, Girona. May-June 2013. studio work 2013-2020.

One of the most immersive albums I've ever heard. Whether it was the care taken while recording, the production, or both, every sound on here sounds fantastic. The subtle drones provide the perfect amount of movement so nothing feels too stagnant. Sublime. jckmd

THE WORK IS STRIKING. The sound manipulation is skillful, and the artist has been concerned with integrating the exterior atmosphere with the sounds produced inside buildings. Through this symbiosis, the work is enriched and captivates all our attention. A big thank you Ludovic! drone2805
